The Giants and outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. have agreed to a Minor League contract on Saturday, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

The club has not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical.

Upton hit .238 with 20 homers and 61 RBIs split between the Padres and Blue Jays in 2016. 

Upton is expected to report to Triple-A Sacramento, where he will join recently signed outfielder Drew Stubbs.

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a Minor League deal with Mike Pelfrey.

The club will send Pelfrey, 33, to Triple-A Charlotte.

Pelfrey was released by the Detroit Tigers last week.

The St. Louis Cardinals have finalized a three-year, $60 million contract extension with Yadier Molina.

Molina becomes baseball's highest-paid catcher by average annual contract value.

The two sides were working towards a new deal this spring.

Molina hit .307/.360/.427 with eight homers and 38 doubles in 581 plate appearances last season.
